BLUFF
Christian Höhn – tp
Tim Scherer – p
Lucas Kolbe – b
Jan Zeimetz – dr

HEJLESEN І BROMAN І HARRISON
young, fresh & explorative
Casper Hejlesen – git
Gustav Broman – b
Dominic Harrison – p

In June 2022 the young award winning danish guitarist Casper Hejlesen will meet the swedish bassist Gustav Broman, as well as the Hamburg based drummer Dominic Harrison for a new trio setting. The three young jazz musicians will be meeting up for a number of concerts in Germany and Denmark to present their new program.

Their original music will be presented at Rost Dock in Rostock (DE) on the 6th June, as well as in Copenhagen (DK) at legendary Monmartre on the7th and on the 8th at Søhesten. On the 9th the trio will perform at Fat Jazz Hamburg (DE) sharing the evening with the local student band BLUFF.

In the Fall of 2019 Casper Hejlesen was selected as “The Northern Jazz name of the year” and earlier the same year he received the “Klaverstemmerens Musikpris” award. He is a young 22 year old guitarist and composer with a sincere passion for the classic and modern american jazz traditions, yet still with his feet planted firmly in the jutlandic roots. It shines through in his mature, enriching and well balanced compositions. He proves to master challenges with his new album Overture. The music represents a resting pulse which, in the improvised solos, starts to rumble freely to then fall back again and breathe out. Casper Hejlesen writes music that works as a background setting full of atmosphere but also with much detail for the focused listener. With Overture Casper Hejlesen has definitely embarked on his journey out of northern Jutland.

Gustav Broman is not only well known for his unique playing style as a sideman in the swedish music scene, but also through his contemporary jazz duo with Albin Vesterberg. They have been playing together extensively for the last 9 years and are both graduates from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm as well as the Dr Langner Jazz Master in Hamburg. His duo has gained a reputation in Sweden and Germany for their twin-like interplay and counterpoint style of improvising. Gustav Broman has received several scholarships and prizes through his musical work. He has developed a very unique playing style on his bass over the years and developed himself as a secret tip among the young jazz scene.

Awarded first place in competitions such as “Northern European Jazz Talent 2019” and the “International Big Band Contest 2019”, the drummer Dominic Harrison is a rising name on the European Jazz Scene. In addition to studying at the HfMT Hamburg, he gained valuable practical experience in the outstanding Landesjugendjazzorchester of Hamburg and Brandenburg. His development led to concerts and collaborations with international artists such as Ben van Gelder, Randy Brecker, Melissa Aldana, Joris Teepe, Vlatko Kučan and Gabriel Coburger. His own various projects include “The Collective Abroad”, a band with outstanding European talents – which tours regularly in Europe
